Troy Hodgdon

Boothbay

Belt: Purple

Troy has enjoyed an active life: firearms, motorcycles, archery, and Jiu-Jitsu. Troy was introduced to Japanese Jiu-Jitsu in 1999 where he trained for two years. In August of 2004 Troy started training Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu with Aaron Blake and found it required as much, if not more, "mental input" as his other hobbies. Troy enjoys the endless intricacies this art provides, along with the physical, and mental workout. "When I realized is was getting more mental fatigue than muscle fatigue, I knew I was on my way to understanding the art". Troy hopes to spend many years training with friends around the area and sharing knowledge of this fulfilling lifestyle.

George Swanton

Belt: Purple

Eric Gardner

Brunswick

Belt: Blue

Eric is not one of those guys that has any past martial arts experience. While he was an athlete when he was younger, he had become less and less active as he grew older and as a result was getting more and more out of shape. After watching his son Andrew train Jiu Jitsu for six months he thought he would give it a try. "It has changed my life. I'm in better shape now than I have been in fifteen years. Both the mental and physical aspects of Jiu Jitsu are so addicting that my whole lifestye has been rearranged to accomadate training. I love it." Eric has been training since June of 2007 and currently holds the rank of Blue Belt under Aaron Blake. He can be found on the mat at Lisbon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
